HURRISAFE 9040 SPECIAL FORMULA
INDUSTRIAL FLOOR CLEANER PROCEDURES
HURRISAFE is a concentrated water based, biodegradable, non-flammable, non-
chlorinated, industrial floor cleaner and general purpose degreaser that has no harmful
fumes, and contains no EPA-reportable materials (SARA, HAPs, etc.) Unlike most
floor cleaning products HURRISAFE 9040 does not contain sodium/potassium hydroxide
and is, therefore, not corrosive to skin or soft metals. Hurrisafe 9040 effectively removes
dirt, dust, shop soils, tire marks, many uncured paints and coatings, grease, and a broad
range of petroleum oils from a variety of surfaces. For floor cleaning Hurrisafe 9040 may
be used in either manual mopping applications or in an automated floor scrubber.

COMPATIBILITY:
HURRISAFE 9040 is compatible with nearly all flooring surfaces, including tile, concrete,
metal and asphalt. It is non-corrosive to virtually all metals, including mild steel, aluminum,
copper and brass that it comes in contact.
FLOOR CLEANING:
Manual Mopping: Follow normal procedures for manual mopping. Removal of difficult
soils can be greatly enhanced by allowing the cleaning solution to soak on the soiled area
for 3 to 5 minutes. Do not allow to dry before mopping up excess.
DIRECTIONS: RECOMMENDED DILUTION FOR MOPPING
Soil Type Dilution With Water
Light Soils: 12-ounces of Hurrisafe to 116 Ounces of Water to = 1 Gallon
Medium Soils: 20-ounces of Hurrisafe to 108 Ounces of Water to = 1 Gallon
Heavy Soils: 32-ounces of Hurrisafe to 96 Ounces of Water to = 1 Gallon
Automated Floor Scrubber: Dilute Hurrisafe, add to machine and follow the directions
provided by the manufacturer for operation instructions.

Hurrisafe to Water
Light Soils: 1 - 3%; light oil, dirt
Medium Soils: 5 - 10%; heavy oil, tire marks, heel marks)
Heavy Soils: 10 - 50%; grease, oils and tire marks
SAFETY:
Rubber gloves are recommended to prevent drying of the skin. Goggles should be worn if
splashing is expected.
DISPOSAL:
Spent HURRISAFE solution is disposed of through a wastewater treatment company or
through sewer discharge to a local POTW, depending on local water discharge
limitations. HURRISAFE 9040 is a non-hazardous waste, and is readily biodegradable by
the EPA definition; however, the soils added to the HURRISAFE 9040 solution might
change the waste characterization. The same reasoning holds for waste rags. They are
only a hazardous waste if the removed soil is itself a hazardous waste.
